A Line in 2020 refers to the point of time in March of the year 2020 when much of the western world shut down due to the covid pandemic. This graph from which this quilt is based expresses the amount of industrial activity during any point in time. The shut down caused the colours to change from bright warm colours (active periods) mixed with blue colours (down times) to mostly blues.
